Places to Visit in Northern India by Sachin Naik

Strategically, North India is the most important part of India for many reasons and this is the one place where one can find the three main religions Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, sacred river Ganga, Yamuna, and other sources of many other important rivers.

Northern India has its own prominence and owes it to the surrounding spiritual, astonishing, and fascinating tourist attractions, historical places, palaces, forts, world’s known heritage monuments, religious places, desert, rivers, wildlife, mountains, religions, and climate. This part of the country is also embraced with many attention-grabbing ancient and contemporary temples, shrines, numerous fairs and festivals, multi-cultured cities and other captivating places and significances that make it a perfect destination for those who seek for perfect ecstasy and adventure.

There are several tourist attractions in North India that will tempt, brace, and enthrall one with pleasure. Some of the cities and places of attraction are listed here, which one should miss when they visit this northern part of India.

Delhi

The capital city of the country is blend with past and present culture, beauty, convolutions, paradoxes, and enthusiasm. Ruled by many rulers of different religions, the city is a mixture of ancient history and vivacious present. There are many monuments in the city that can be divided according the rulers and some are

Moghul Monuments – Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Khuni Darwaza, Feroz Shah Kotla, Tughlaqabad, Lodi’s Tomb, Jantar Mantar, Humayun’s Tomb, Jama Masjid, and etc.

Haryana

Known as the Green Land of India is divided into two areas called the sub-Himalayan Terai and the Indo-Gangetic Plain. Places of interest that should not be missed in this city are The Secretariat, National Gallery of Portraits, The Assembly & High Court, International Doll Museum, Pinjore Gardens, Bhima Devi Temple, Bhakra Nangal, Chandi Mandir, and many more.

Himachal Pradesh

Nestled in the Himalayas of North India, Himachal is called the Abode of Snow. This state is a tourist paradise blessed with some of the most picturesque and miraculous landscape. Some of the tourist attractions in this state are the valleys of Kullu and Kangra, Lahaul and Spiti, Chamundi Devi Temple of Chamba, Naina Devi Temple in Nainital, and etc. The state is also blessed with several Sanctuaries, National Parks, Games Reserve, and stunning rivers descending from the Himalaya. The state is also famous for housing a popular place called Shimla, which is called as the ‘Queen of Hill Stations’ that is surrounded by pine, deodar, oak, and rhododendron forests. Jammu & Kashmir

Considered as the most fascinating state of Northern India and Switzerland of Asia, Jammu & Kashmir with snow-capped mountains backdrop is cuddled by the Himalayas, crystalline blue skies, stunning lakes with enchanting houseboats. The most visited places in this state are Jammu, Vaishno Devi, Leh (Ladak), Srinagar, Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens of Srinagar, and Amarnath Yatra/Trek.

Punjab

Punjab, the holy city of Sikhs and famous for the Golden Temple in Amritsar is regarded has evolved from a sacred village pond. Rajasthan
